How to Hide a Local Drive using command prompt?
1. Click on Start - Run
2. In Run box type cmd and hit Enter. Now Command Prompt window will appear.
3. In command prompt, type diskpart and hit Enter.
4. Then type list volume and hit Enter.

Now it will display the list of all your computer drives details.
5. Then type the Drive Letter which you want to hide.
If you want to hide volume E, type select volume E and hit Enter.
Now follow mentioned massage will appear to you.
Volume 4 is the selected volume
6. After that, type remove letter E and hit an Enter.
That's all, you have done. Now restart your computer once. When you start your PC again, you want be able to see the particular drive in My Computer.
How to get back Hidden Drive again in My Computer.
Do the procedure which i have mentioned in step 1,2,3,4 and 5 again.
Click Start --> Run --> cmd -->
Then type diskpart - list volume - select volume E
After that type assign letter E and hit Enter.
That's all !! You have got back the hidden local drive. Once again restart your PC, now you will be able to see hidden local drive in My Computer.
Note: Your PC doesn't lost any data by doing this trick .

Delete Thumb.DB files?


1) Open any folder and click Tools > Folder Options.

2) Click the View tab from the Folder Options window.

3) In the Advanced Settings check “Do not cache thumbnails“.

You can choose “Show hidden files and folders“, search for Thumbs.db files and delete them all, using the previous steps windows will not generate it again.

How to Rename the Recycle Bin

1. To change the name of the Recycle Bin desktop icon, open Regedit and go to:

2. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID/{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

3. and change the name "Recycle Bin" to whatever you want (don't type any quotes).

Hide or Show Run Command from Start Menu

1 .You can easily hide or show run command from Start menu of Windows. First of all you have to log in from user who have Administrative rights and then load Windows Registry Editor by typing “regedit” in Run Command without quots.

2. If you want to hide Run Command only for logged on user then open this path.

3. If you want to hide Run Command for every user of Windows then open this path.

4. After opening this path. Create a new key. NoRun (String Type) and enter value 1 in it.

5. After creating this key restart or log off your Windows to take effects. If you are using Microsoft Windows 98 then you have to restart your windows. After restarting or logging again your windows you can’t see Run Command in your Start menu.

6. If you want to show again Run Command in Start menu then remove key from Registry which you created above.

when you right click on any drive its looks like chinees and do not give you option for open


1 - Open my computer explorer---> tool options-----> folder options ----->view----> show hidden files and folders

2 - then go to C drive using the explorer by typing this Command C:

3 - Delete the [A]autorun.inf [B]and [b]RevMon.exe

4 - Repeat the process in the rest of drives e.g; d,e,f etc

5 - Restart your computer and you will see that now your computer is norman.and now ehn you right click on any drive it shows open.

6 - In some cases you can not see the above mentioned files  ( autorun.inf & RevMon.exe) then you open your drives in winrar.because the winrar shows all hidden files and can also use the winrar for this purpose.

7 - But if your computer is more infected then it will appear after some time when you deletes these have no need to worry.Just install zonealram or any other firewall and kill that process after adding this program.

8 - If you are expert then you can also use software restriction policies by adding that program to kill it.

9 - You have no need to worry if your computer is infected that virus becoz that virus does not harm to ur data.

- Kill the process wgatray.exe in Windows TaskManager (Select it then right click and select End task) and restart Windows XP in safe mode. Now delete the following files:

- Delete WgaTray.exe from c:windowsssystem32

- Delete WgaTray.exe from c:windowssystem32dllcache

- Start Windows Registry editor and delete the folder “WGALOGON” located in the following location:

- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoft Windows NTCurrentVersionWinlogonNotify.

- Delete all references in your registry to WgaTray.exe (repeat search using F3 function key).

* Import Contact Information Into Microsoft Outlook

Export and Convert the Data

- Use the program's export or save as feature to save the data into a "Comma Separated Value (.cvs) file to enable it to be imported to the Outlook Contact list.

1. Open the .csv file with Microsoft Excel or another program to prepare the data for export.
2. To successfully import these addresses over to Outlook proper labels must be assigned to the enteries in the Excel file. Insert a row above the current     list of entries. Name the three column headings as Nick Name, Full Name and E-mail Address appropriately.
3. Save the Excel spreadsheet as a " Comma Separated Value " file with a .csv extension on to your Desktop.
4. Click Yes if prompted to retain the format of the Excel file and then close the Excel program.

Import the file

- You can add the addresses from Excel file you saved into your Outlook contacts folder. This cannot be done in the Outlook on the Web (OWA) environment. So you must configure an Outlook client to move the address over to Outlook. To do so follow the steps given below:

1. Open Outlook and select the Import and Export option from the File menu.
2. From the Import and Export Wizard, select the Import from another program or fileoption.Click Next.
3. For the Select file type to import from option, choose Comma Seperated Values.ClickNext.
4. To select the file to import to Outlook, browse to the Excel file that you had saved on the Desktop. Click Next.
5. Select Contacts as the destination folder and then click Next.
6. Click Map Custom Fields to map the fields from the old address book to the Contacts folder.
7. Drag the Full Name value from the .csv file to the Name field on the right. Simialrly drag E-mail Address value to the E-mail field. Click OK to continue.
8. Click Finish to initiate the transfer of addresses from the old address book to the Contact list in Outlook.
9. All the addresses should now show up in the Contacts list.
10. In case of a Distribution List, the email addresses of the individuals on the list MUST be first added as Contacts in Outlook. A new Distribution list must then be created by adding those individuals from the Contacts List
